Bennett McNaughton Attorneys has been serving the South African community for over 60 years. We originated as a practice in Springs in 1939 under the name and style of Colin Bissett & McNaughton. Mr Bissett left for Swaziland where he became the Chief Justice. A partnership between Mr Bennett and McNaughton was forged after both these parties returned from active duty in the Second World War. In 1948 the firm became known as Bennett & McNaughton Attorneys, the name by which the firm is known today.

Mr. Heinrich Schmidt joined the firm in 1995, he later that year launched an office in Edenvale which proudly opened its doors on 1 August 1995. Ms. Marlene Van Den Berg joined the practice in the mid-1998 and both Mr. Schmidt and Ms. Van Den Berg were admitted as partners in 1998. They still head up the firm as partners which has had its footprint in Edenvale for more than two decades.
